There are tons of books out there; tons of articles; tons of etiquette lectures from aunties and mothers about how to be a good girl and how to keep your man. I’m sure you’ve heard this one before, “Don’t let him see you cry,” or worse than that, “If it gets hard, cry – he’ll feel sorry for you.”
Well, I for one am sick of it. Now is the time for some independent stuff!
You are a flesh and blood individual, and it is a darn disgrace (a real shame!) to walk about this world with your head sunk under your cloud of social rule! It is a shame to be a half person. Never forget, ladies, that you were born for a purpose; born as a fully-made human with thoughts of your own and freedom in your blood.
Enough with dudes thinking they can walk all over you. Enough, you hear:
E-N-O-U-G-H.
How about this: there are no rules to this life; there are no rules to being yourself. It doesn’t matter if you are a dude or a chick – why must you follow the rules of this society if following them never makes you feel like a fully-fledged individual. In other words, if you wanna cry, go ahead and cry. Don’t do it cos you’re supposed to or not supposed to; instead, do it cos you wanna. If a dude is shocked at your newfound (always existed) independence then you should know he’s just a weak, insecure little boy who’ll always bring you down. So tell him to shove it, and go meet yourself some other dude who’s worthy of being in your presence.
